Our Scottish House
First trial blog post...let's see how it goes!
We bought this house in the summer of 2017 and as always, we live in a house for about a year before we start doing anything to it.
A Victorian semi-detached, built in 1890, one of the original homes in this area.

The previous owners had lived here for about 15 years and the only major work they had done to the house was convert the upper 'box' room from the triangular window space (as seen above) to a larger dormer capacity.
We took out the wooden fence and planted a Portugese Laurel hedge and eventually got rid of the horrible 'red chuckies' and replaced it with charcoal monoblock. The original iron fence that separates us from our neighbours was replicated twice - first inbetween the driveway to the front garden and finally, on the right hand side of the garage between our other neighbours.

'Flamingo' gravel and a charcoal paved path to the front door completed the look.

Left the storm doors white, but painted the front door black.
I found some fabulous blue eucalypts (made me feel at home!) in a local garden centre. Complements the original fence beautifully!
